The central spa park invites you to stroll among its herb garden, footbath and mini-golf course. Water features, mature trees, open lawns, well-kept flower beds and walking paths give the park its leafy character. The Kneipp herb garden is next to the MEDIAN Therapy Center at the spa park. Covering 800 square metres, it features 120 perennial and 15 woody plant species arranged in 14 beds—taking a closer look at the plants adds a botanical focus to your walk.

The spa park also has several places to get active: the mini-golf course has 18 holes. A boules court and an exercise trail with various pieces of equipment are right beside it; these include exercises for the heart and circulation, as well as instructions. Since the operation and access arrangements for such facilities can change, it is advisable to check visiting options in advance. Since 2024, the Sensory Experience Trail has added installations made of wood, metal and stone around the historic moat, on lawns and along paths. They invite visitors to try things out and explore for themselves; the offering may change over time.

Half-timbered houses and local history

Half-timbered houses dating back four centuries stand in the centre of the market square. They feature surviving elements of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical styles; many of the buildings have remained largely unchanged. Another landmark of the town’s history is the Amthof, a multi-wing complex with 145 metres of exposed half-timbering. At the end of its south wing, the Amthof Gallery hosts markets and cultural events; events are also held in the inner courtyard with its carillon. Established in 1981, the Town and Tower Museum is housed in historic rooms in the Hohenfeld Chapel on Am Amthof street. Its objects and documents are significant to local, regional and natural history. Since 1981, visitors have been able to climb the Obertorturm (Upper Gate Tower) from the Hohenfeld Chapel, ascending 133 steps to the tower keeper’s apartment. The fourth floor offers views across Bad Camberg towards the Taunus. Please check before your visit whether access to the tower is possible.

The Old Jewish School was conceived as a documentation centre. It virtually brings back the largely lost town fortifications and preserves knowledge about the Jewish community in Camberg, which was destroyed by the National Socialists. Newly installed signs also allow visitors to explore the site independently. For another historical perspective, seven station stones dating from 1700 line the route to the Kreuzkapelle (Cross Chapel). They were donated by noble families and come from the Hadamar School of Sculpture.

Hiking, cycling and guided discoveries

The Bad Camberg hiking map shows 27 circular hiking trails with a total length of 225 kilometres. They were developed jointly with the beautification associations and local representatives of the town districts of Würges, Oberselters, Erbach, Dombach and Schwickershausen. The same map also lists the 25-kilometre Kercheweg. It also lists and describes four terrain trails that can be used as part of exercise therapy. Cyclists will also find a range of options in the official cycling guide: it includes twelve routes and three connecting routes towards Hessenweiler, Limburg and Idstein.
