The museum also introduces visitors to the former Wolfenburg: a model depicts the former Renaissance castle, built by Count Wolfgang of Ysenburg-Ronneburg between 1564 and 1580. It was destroyed several times during the Thirty Years’ War. A dedicated museum room focuses on the Main, bringing together river finds from different periods, objects relating to rafting and fishing, preserved river fish and ship models.
