The Bleyen Local History Room comprises six rooms arranged around different themes: a washroom, a formal sitting room, a workshop, a kitchen-living room, a children's room and a fisherman's room. The themes range from housing and housework to crafts, childhood and fishing; this breadth brings changes in everyday life to life and gives the collection a clear cultural-historical focus.

The local history room opened on November 2, 1996, in a half-timbered building owned by the municipality. In the former fishing village of Bleyen, traditional village life included festive celebrations held two weeks after Pentecost.

Bruchsee and the Oder foreland

Bruchsee was formed after a dike breach and lies directly west of Neubleyen in the characteristic landscape of the Oder foreland. Its location and formation draw attention both to a local body of water and to the landscape in which it lies.
