Tiered Linden and Town Hall in Grettstadt
The tiered linden is a small-leaved lime tree about 20 metres tall. It is approximately 380 years old and has a circumference of around three metres. Its lower ring of branches is supported by eight outer and four inner stone pillars, connected by wooden cross-braces. Above them, the rings of branches rise in evenly diminishing circles. The tree thus brings together natural growth and a clearly visible support structure. The tiered linden is considered unique for its cultural and historical significance and its appearance.
