Discover Kleinwinklarn

Kleinwinklarn can be explored through church art, hiking trails, bodies of water and an announced village event. When choosing a holiday apartment or holiday home for your stay, you can first consider whether you would like to focus on shared days on the trail, cultural impressions, an event or fishing.

Church with special details

A notable cultural destination is the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Kleinwinklarn. It was built in 1905 and has a roof turret instead of a tower. In the apse stands a life-sized Sacred Heart statue by the Sudeten German sculptor Karl Mauermann, dating from 1946. To the left of the choir is a work depicting Saint Joseph, and to the right a Madonna.

These details in particular make the church building interesting for visitors who want to discover not only the landscape while travelling, but also regional art and religious design. The Sacred Heart statue, as well as the works depicting Saint Joseph and the Madonna, are distinctive details of this religious design.

Hiking trails between stream, forest and lake

The Oberpfälzer Seenweg trail follows the Atzenbach stream directly to Kleinwinklarn, where places to stop for refreshments await. The trail then continues through the forest towards Stetten and Gütenland and along the southern shore of Lake Eixendorf to Wutzschleife. This offers a travel idea for anyone who enjoys structuring their days around a longer trail and connecting different types of landscape.

The Neunburger Goldsteig loop offers another point of orientation. It is designed as a three-day tour and leads past Kleinwinklarn towards Gütenland.

Bodies of water and a regional event

Two fishing waters are also part of the surrounding landscape. The Stettnerbach runs from the Kleinwinklarn turn-off to Stettnermühle. The relevant section of the Rötzerbach extends upstream from Dorfmühle to the Kleinwinklarn turn-off, the beginning of the Stettnerbach. Anyone interested in fishing can take these waters into account when planning, without making their stay exclusively about a single activity.

The first two-day Kleinwinklarn Fischkirwa has been announced for 3 and 4 October 2026 at the Kleinwinklarn village community centre. At the 2026 Fischkirwa, baked carp as well as schnitzel with potato salad or chips will be offered. The premises of the village community centre are rented out or made available by the supporting association for events to anyone interested.

If you would like to travel on these dates, the event combines a specific occasion with the other opportunities available locally. When looking for accommodation in Kleinwinklarn, you can therefore consciously consider your preferred travel period and activities together. At other times of year, the church, trails and bodies of water remain independent points of interest.
