Town history in the former town castle
Since 1980, the Schwarzachtal Local History Museum has been housed in the historic rooms of the former town castle. In the 15th century, it was a residence of the Wittelsbach Palatine Counts. The exhibition covers a total area of 1,000 square metres across 18 rooms and a lapidarium. Along the “Fish” adventure trail, Eixi introduces visitors to other fish found in Lake Eixendorf and the Schwarzach. Several skill stations along the way add a movement-focused element alongside the fish theme. Another specific feature is the viewing opening in the wooden carp “Eixi”: it is seven metres high.
