The wider regional surroundings of Marzling include Schleißheim Palace, the Bavarian National Museum Old Schleißheim Palace, Reigersberg, and Fuchsberg.

Marzling is located in the Freising district of Upper Bavaria, approximately four kilometres northeast of Freising.

The southern part of Marzling lies in the flat Munich gravel plain on the edge of the Erdinger Moos; the surrounding Lüsse areas are predominantly used for agriculture.

The parish church of St. Martin in Marzling is a late medieval, late Gothic building that was remodelled in the Baroque style around 1715 and extended in 1864. The stucco work from around 1720 is attributed to Nikolaus Liechtenfurtner.
