Aschach: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Aschach circular hiking trail is a signposted 5.5-kilometre loop, for which approximately 60 minutes are planned. Shortcuts are possible.

Hiking

The circular trail can be started at the Donatus Chapel or at the former Bienenhof car park. Further parking options are listed at the Aschach fire station, at the chapel and at the cemetery. The section of the geology trail is suitable for pushchairs, while parts of the upper panoramic section are not suitable for them.

Nature

The route conveys the geological history of Aschach. This includes the former river and shallow-sea environments in the area of the transition from the Triassic to the Jurassic period. Fossil remains can be found along the trail.

Culture

The Donatus Chapel, situated above Aschach on the edge of the forest, is a Neo-Gothic chapel built in 1846–47. It lies directly on the Amberg–Schnaittenbach Anniversary Hiking Trail and also serves as a resting place for hikers and pilgrims.
