History

Königsbrunn developed as one of Bavaria's youngest settlements: wells were built in 1833, the first settlers constructed houses there in 1836, the settlement became a municipality in 1842, and it was granted town status in 1967.

The name Königsbrunn is associated with three wells that were dug in 1833 between Augsburg and Klosterlechfeld to provide travelers, carters and pilgrims with water.
