In Lalling, hiking options range from a short circuit in the Feng Shui Kurpark to long-distance trails that include the village as a destination or stop along the way. There is also a Kneipp facility that can be combined with two of the routes. Circular Routes of Varying Lengths
The 1.2 km nature trail in the Feng Shui Kurpark is a short circular route. It passes through Jägerhölzl and along Ahornweg, ending at the Lalling Kneipp facility. Its manageable length and circular route make it a practical option if you want to include a short walk in your day’s plans. The Frohnmühlenweg takes a different route and is about 3 km long: it starts in the centre of Lalling, passes through Ranzing and Frohnmühle, and returns to Lalling.
If you would prefer a longer educational trail to a short circuit, the Steinbruchsteig is an approximately 7.5 km circular hike. From Lalling, it leads through Feng Shui Park and Euschertsfurth and past a 600-year-old linden tree before returning to Lalling. The route connects several stops and natural features within a single circuit. Its specific distance and course help distinguish it from the shorter village walks.
Combine Kneipp Therapy and Hiking
The Lalling Kneipp facility opened in 1985. Its features include a water-treading pool, an arm pool, several benches and a covered rest area. The nature trail and the Steinbruchsteig pass close to the facility, so you can combine them with Kneipp therapy. On these two routes, you can therefore plan both a hike and a stop at the facility. The pools and seating give the facility its distinctive character; it also has a covered rest area.
Lalling as a Destination on Longer Hiking Routes
Longer routes also lead to or through Lalling. Stage S 18 of the Goldsteig South Route is 16 km long and designated a quality long-distance hiking trail. It runs from Landshuter Haus to Lalling via Rusel, Datting, Kapfing and Gerholling-Dösing. At approximately 88 km, the Gunthersteig is considerably longer and is described as a pilgrimage route: from Niederalteich, it leads via Lalling, Richnach, Lindberg, Spiegelhütte and Scheuereck to Dobrá Voda in the Czech Republic. Both routes place Lalling within longer hiking itineraries, but differ considerably in total length and course.
