The Lochmühle adventure restaurant in Eigeltingen offers, among other things, a climbing area with a zip line, tractor and motocross races, and bull riding. Lochmühle also has a petting zoo, mini tractor rides, pony rides and a playground. This gives you a choice of different activities when planning your visit: climbing and riding or driving activities on the one hand, and animals and play areas on the other. Check with the operator for the current availability of activities.

The Bonbon Manufaktur’s demonstration workshop offers a different focus: visitors can watch Bodensee sweets, candy sticks and lollipops being made by hand. Here, the emphasis is on observing the production process. Contact the business to ask about current visitor arrangements. At Adventure Alpakas, an alpaca farm in the hamlet of Guggenhausen near Rorgenwies, visitors can learn more about alpacas. If you plan to visit, check the current visitor arrangements with the farm.

Walking trails and scenery nearby

The “Südwind” circular trail runs from Liptingen to Eigeltingen-Heudorf and back; you can also start in Eigeltingen-Heudorf. Check local conditions before setting out. The Krebsbachputzer premium hiking trail is another named route: the municipality of Eigeltingen opened it in 2015 and gives its length as 15 km. The municipal website currently marks the trail as “temporarily closed”. Check its status before planning a hike.

The Krebsbachtal nature reserve lies north of Eigeltingen in the surrounding area and was designated in 1940. Nearby, the reconstructed foundations of an outbuilding can also be viewed at the Roman estate in Eigeltingen. The two destinations offer different points of interest: the landscape is the focus at Krebsbachtal, while the estate features a specific reconstructed structure. This helps you distinguish between nature and cultural attractions when exploring the area, without treating either as an attraction within the town itself.

The wider Konstanz travel destination

The Butterfly House on Mainau Island, within the wider Konstanz travel destination, offers a different focus. It is home to up to 120 different butterfly species and subspecies from the tropical regions of South and Central America, Africa and Asia; the collection of animals may change. Ring bus routes 4/13 and 13/4 run between Konstanz railway station and the districts of Litzelstetten, Wallhausen, Dingelsdorf and Dettingen, stopping near the entrance to Mainau Island. Check the current timetable before travelling.

The SeeGang premium hiking trail is also part of the wider Konstanz travel destination: this well-signposted, 53-kilometre trail connects Überlingen and Konstanz and passes through the Lake Constance district and the district of Konstanz. The BODENSEECARD WEST offers another way to explore the region. Overnight guests receive it at check-in in 14 participating towns. It serves as a free public transport pass in the district of Konstanz, as far as Stein am Rhein and Überlingen, and offers a 20% discount on Untersee boat trips as well as reduced museum admission.
