Art and Roman History in Güglingen
More than 40 artworks from different periods can be discovered in the town centre. These include reliefs from the Roman settlement as well as contemporary works. If you enjoy experiencing art in public spaces, you can make these diverse works the focus of a visit to Güglingen. The audio tour offers another perspective: it takes you through Güglingen and introduces selected works from among more than 50 sculptures and installations.
The Güglingen Roman Museum focuses on the town’s Roman past. Its permanent exhibition comprises around 2,000 exhibits and spans three floors organised by theme. This makes a visit to the museum a cultural stop in its own right, alongside the artworks in public spaces. St. Mauritius Church also features a distinctive combination of artistic styles: its interior contains modern paintings and a unique palm cloth.
A series of theatre and concerts takes place in the hall at Herzogskelter. If you are interested in performing arts and music, you can keep this programme in mind as another cultural highlight for your trip.
Hiking Trails and Nature on Foot or by Bike
For active exploration, there are the Güglingen WanderDreiKlänge, the circular trail around Eibensbach, and orchards and nature trails. These routes offer ways to explore Güglingen, Eibensbach and Frauenzimmern on foot or by bike. You can make each day different, focusing on hiking trails, orchards or nature-related themes, depending on your interests.
One specific route is the GÜ2 “Around Güglingen” circular trail. It is 10.70 kilometres long, forms part of the Güglingen hiking trail network and starts at the Wander3Klang hiking car park in Güglingen. The stated distance is a helpful guide when planning your route. The other trails mentioned also offer more ways to actively explore the three places and their surroundings.
Time in the Water at Güglingen Outdoor Pool
Güglingen outdoor pool has a combined pool with several different areas. The swimming section has four lanes and measures 10 by 25 metres; there is also a non-swimmer area with a water surface of 788 square metres. A diving area with 1- and 3-metre diving boards completes the pool facilities.
Other features include three massage jets, two cascade showers, a mushroom fountain and a wide slide approximately 3 metres wide and 16 metres long. The various features give the outdoor pool several different highlights—from swimming in the lanes and using the diving area to enjoying the slide. This makes it a distinctly water-focused activity to include in your holiday plans, alongside culture and trails.
Wine Fountain and Motorhome Pitches
The Güglingen wine fountain is available on special occasions: at official events organised by the town or clubs, at private celebrations and on excursions, visitors can pour red or white wine from the fountain sculpture into a glass made especially for this purpose. The offer is limited to these occasions and adds a local wine dimension to the cultural and active options.
Ten motorhome pitches are designated in Güglingen in the car park south of the outdoor pool, at the access road via Eibensbacher Straße to “Kreuzgärten”. They can be used free of charge all year round, with a maximum stay of five days. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, your interests—culture, hiking or the outdoor pool—can help guide your choice of where to stay in Güglingen.
