Lake Ronzey is a three-hectare lake in the immediate vicinity of the source of the Yzeron. A path runs along the lakeshore; there is also a fishing spot adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. It bears the “Parcours FAMILLE” label, awarded by the Comité National de Labellisation des Parcours de Pêche.

The mountains of Crêt Montmain, Le Châtelard, Mont Pothu Nord and Grande Pierre are located around Yzeron. The Château de Saint-André du Coing is also located in the wider surrounding region.

Activities

At the Py Froid climbing crag, there are around twenty routes, most of which are climbed top-rope. The hiking options are also clearly signposted: the “Du crêt de la Madone au col des Brosses” hike bears the yellow-and-white and red markings of the GR® 7, as well as the PDIPR marking.

Le Jardin d’Yzeron offers a six-hour hands-on workshop. Participants gather wild plants, prepare a dish based on them and then eat together. Le Jardin d’Yzeron also offers the three-hour, culture-focused outdoor hike “Balade tout près des plantes”, which begins at the Planil car park in Yzeron.

Culture and History

The Maison d’Expositions de L’Araire is located in Yzeron in the former girls’ school at 23 rue de la Cascade. The Chapelle de Châteauvieux is an 11th-century Romanesque chapel dedicated to John the Baptist. Three Sully lime trees stand in the square in Châteauvieux.

The historic site of Abbaye Saint-Martin de Savigny and the ruins of Abbaye Saint-Martin de Savigny are located around Yzeron. The Couvent Sainte-Marie de La Tourette is also located in the surrounding area.
