The Boucle des Torrières runs across an agriculturally used plateau, through centuries-old oak forests and past stone buildings.

Culture and History

The Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption was built from 1677 to 1681 using limestone from Couzon. It is fully protected as a historic monument; the designation was made by decree dated 6 April 2004.

The Nymphée du parc d'Ombreval was once a place of relaxation, serving for refreshment and enjoyment by the water. It was first mentioned in archival documents in 1656.

The Pavillon de l'Écho belongs to the Domaine d’Ombreval. It is located northwest of the château on a hill overlooking the Saône and was probably built between 1661 and 1671 as a pleasure pavilion. It is not open to the public.

The Château de Saint-André du Coing, a château, the Artothèque de Lyon Part-Dieu, a museum, and the Abbaye Saint-Pierre, a historic site, are also located in the vicinity of Neuville-sur-Saône. In the wider regional area lies the Artothèque du Centre d'Arts Plastiques de Villefranche-sur-Saône, a closed museum.

Local Character

The Foire du 1er Mai includes concerts at the Halte Fluviale, as well as rides and other attractions for children. Traditional Lyonnais mâchons are considered renowned in Neuville-sur-Saône and the greater Lyon area.
