The Tour des Pierres Dorées is a 100-kilometre circular route designated as a GRP hiking trail. It begins and ends in Lozanne and passes through 27 municipalities in Beaujolais. Renting a holiday apartment in Lozanne can be part of your personal travel plans.
Nature
The Balad’Azergues connects Lozanne, Civrieux d’Azergues and Chazay d’Azergues along a 7.5-kilometre walking route beside the Azergues. The route is signposted and has information boards near each footbridge. At the same time, the Balad’Azergues is a family-friendly walking route along the banks of the Azergues.
The Parc des berges de Lozanne is a 1.2-hectare site on the banks of the Azergues. It features wooden play equipment, a running track, a football pitch, a basketball court, boules facilities and picnic areas.
The mountains of Mont d’Or, La Liouffe, Fourches Voirines and Chavagny are also located in the vicinity of Lozanne.
Culture
Next to the present-day bridge, an old 12th-century arch can be seen on the left bank behind the restaurant.
In the vicinity of Lozanne are the Château de Saint-André du Coing, a château, and the Couvent Sainte-Marie de La Tourette, a convent. The Abbaye Saint-Martin de Savigny, a historic site, is also nearby; its ruins are located there as well.
History
The remains of a prehistoric site where weapons and tools were made were discovered in Lozanne.
The choir of the church contains a 7th-century liturgical piscina. Above the entrance portal is a painting dated to 1480 and restored in 2010.
