Changy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The present-day church of Changy explains the history of Blessed Philippa de Champ-Milan. She was born in Changy in the 15th century and died on 15 October 1451 while caring for people suffering from the plague.

Culture and history

Of the three mills near the village of Changy, Moulin Berthier is the only one that has been preserved. The Colombier de Changy dates from the early 19th century and has a circular shape with a hemispherical roof. Around 600 boulins can be viewed there via a central ladder.

The mountains of Grands Rocs, Bois de Pilossière and Montmeugne are located in the vicinity of Changy. The mountain of Châtelus is also situated nearby.

The ponds along the L’étang d’Arçon excursion trail attract breeding birds as well as migratory birds passing through during the cold season. Étang d’Arçon is a private pond; tables and facilities are reserved exclusively for anglers.

Hiking

The circular L’étang d’Arçon hike is 10.5 km long. The L’étang d’Arçon route has its designated starting point at the car park of Salle d’animation, Vers Mont, 42310 Changy.

The Le Tour du Pont – Demain route takes in rivers, waterfalls, vineyards, forests and former mills and offers wide-ranging views of the Monts de la Madeleine and the Roanne plain.
