Montriond: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lac de Montriond is a geotope in the Chablais UNESCO Global Geopark. The lake was formed by a major landslide from the Nantaux area that occurred before 1550. Cascade d'Ardent is located above Lac de Montriond, halfway between the lake and Les Lindarets.

Nature

There is a designated bathing area at Lac de Montriond. A viewing platform offers a view of Cascade d'Ardent from above. The route from Lac de Montriond to Ardent begins at the end of the lake and leads through the forest to the hamlet of Les Albertans. In addition, the hiking route from Lac de Montriond to Cascade d'Ardent is designated as a connecting path.

Activities

Rando-Montriond organises hikes on Mondays accompanied by an official hiking guide. At the Ski de fond à Montriond site, visitors can cross-country ski for free on groomed and marked trails; there are three circular trails there.

The red loop at the Ski de fond à Montriond site can also start at the Bout du Lac car park. It is 1.2 km long and has 50 m of ascent and 50 m of descent.

Culture

The Église de la Visitation-de-Marie in Montriond houses a Stations of the Cross protected as a movable cultural property. The Église de Montriond also houses a statue of the Virgin and Child.

Line Mbis connects the school in Morzine with the Ardent cable car, passing through the hamlets of Montriond.
