Culture

The Church of Saint Michael is a Provençal Romanesque church dating from the second half of the 12th century. Its distinctive features are two apses facing each other to the east and west.

The Val des Nymphes site was a Gallo-Roman place of worship dedicated to mother goddesses and later became a medieval settlement. The surviving chapel of Val des Nymphes is a 12th-century Romanesque chapel and part of a priory dependent on Tournus Abbey.

The Chapel of the White Penitents preserves Romanesque twin windows regarded as evidence of one of the beautiful medieval residences. A wall fresco in the same chapel depicts two penitents and may date from the late 18th century.

Nature

The Jardin des Herbes covers 3,000 m² and contains more than 200 species of aromatic and medicinal plants. Individual visits are possible at any time without a guide; guided visits for individuals are available on request.

An easy family circular trail leads from La Garde-Adhémar to Val des Nymphes.
