Saint-Julien-Boutières: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Sentier du centenaire No. 22 passes by the village of Saint-Julien-Boutières. Along its 5-kilometre route, eleven information boards explain the history of local passementerie production, the railway and stoneworking.

Châteauneuf-en-Boutières offers a 180-degree panoramic view of the Boutières mountain range. The Boostez votre VMA! hiking route runs through a mid-mountain landscape with old agricultural terraces, beautiful stone villages and preserved flora and fauna. It ends at the church of Saint-Julien-Boutières.

Culture and History

Today, the ruins of Châteauneuf-en-Boutières preserve a 26.70-metre-long wall and the remains of a triangular tower. Châteauneuf-en-Boutières was one of 43 castles built in Vivarais before the year 1000.

The Notre Dame des Boutières statue is 7 metres high and was inaugurated on 30 August 1945. A bell in the church of Saint-Julien-Boutières has been classified as a protected object since 2 March 1943.
