Saint-Fortunat-sur-Eyrieux is situated on the Eyrieux River. The Dolce Via runs through the village. In the Lower Eyrieux Valley, it leads as far as the village of Saint-Fortunat-sur-Eyrieux; this section is approximately 6 km long and has a gentle downhill gradient. From the ViaRhôna, the Dolce Via can be reached on foot, by mountain bike, trekking bike or on horseback. On the Boucle VAE No. 4, the route leaves the Dolce Via at the entrance to Saint-Fortunat-sur-Eyrieux and crosses the Eyrieux via a bridge.

Saint-Fortunat-sur-Eyrieux has 140 km of signposted hiking trails. The hiking trails extend across 2,300 hectares of open countryside and pass through areas that were formerly cultivated as vineyard terraces.
The Circuit du Col d'Aurelle leads from the banks of the Eyrieux to the Col d'Aurelle through a landscape of schist and sandstone with chestnut trees, evergreen oaks and cade junipers. The Circuit du Col d'Aurelle crosses the Natura 2000 site “Vallée de l'Eyrieux et ses affluents”.
Culture and History
In the old village centre stands a statue of Lieutenant General Rampon, Count of the Empire and veteran of the Napoleonic campaigns. The former suspension bridge over the Eyrieux at the hamlet of Prahy-le-Pourchaire was classified as a historic monument on 7 May 1982. The village's development in the 19th century included the establishment of a silk spinning mill next to the Temple.

There is a picnic area in the village. Hélix Eyrieux offers tours and tastings by prior reservation. The third edition of “Escapade Gourmande: de l’eau … à la bouche” combined an 8.5-km hike open to everyone with six enjoyable stops at local producers, along with drinks and specialities from the Ardèche.
