Le Pouzin: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Pont romain has been listed as a historic monument in France since 30 December 1998. It was probably built at the beginning of the 2nd century AD and crosses the Ouvèze at the narrowest point of its course through the limestone massif. The almost completely preserved Pont romain is still in use.

The Pont du Pouzin connects the hamlet of Le Bourg on the right bank with Le Crassier on the left bank, immediately upstream from the mouth of the Ouvèze. The bridge is almost 300 metres long and has three spans of almost equal length, each measuring between 96 and 98 metres. A separate 1.25-metre-wide footpath projects from the outer side of the downstream bridge girder.

The parish church of Sainte-Madeleine-du-Pouzin is built of reinforced concrete and stone from Chomérac near Privas. Saint-Pierre de Rompon has been part of the Fédération Européenne des Sites Clunisiens network since 2013.

The municipality of Le Pouzin is home to three Natura 2000 sites. The “Rompon, Ouvèze, Payre” Natura 2000 site comprises dry grasslands, meadows, watercourses and bat caves and lies between Le Pouzin and Privas in the Ardèche département. The Printegarde Natura 2000 site is located on one of the most important bird migration routes.
