Trails and Gardens
The Sentier des vignerons is an 8-kilometre circular walk. It starts at the cooperative winery and was created by local winegrowers. A second circular walk, the Sentier de Bourbouillet, is 18 kilometres long and starts at the war memorial.
The Sentier des vignes leads through vineyards and along dry-stone walls. Along the way, it provides information about typical grape varieties such as Chatus. At Mas de Beaulieu, the Terre & Humanisme garden is open daily, including weekends, for independent and free access. An educational trail with 15 interactive and explanatory panels leads through the garden's various areas.
Culture and History
Among the notable structures is the Pont mégalithique, a 16-metre-long dry-stone bridge made of 15 sandstone slabs spanning the Ruisseau de Masseloup. The Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours was built in the 19th century and replaced two chapels from the 17th and 18th centuries at the same site. In addition, 33 dolmens have been recorded in Lablachère and are considered to be more than 3,000 years old.
The Chateau de la Saumès is a large rectangular building with a hipped roof and two storeys. Its features include very large sash windows, high-quality natural-stone masonry, an inner courtyard, a chapel and a garden. The Eglise Saint Julien stands on a hill above Lablachère and offers a beautiful panorama.
The Site de Drome la Romaine site was inhabited in Roman times by a Gallo-Roman villa and possibly by a vicus. A mausoleum was erected there in honour of a Helvian; this person may have been Marcus Iallius Bassus Fabius Valerianus.
La Ferme Théâtre offers numerous performances in converted former stables and an outdoor area.
