Berzème: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Berzème is located on the Plateau du Coiron, where valley and rocky escarpment landscapes merge into an expansive, very green bocage plateau. Between Taverne and Berzème lies a broad depression; it is considered the opening of a volcano, and the Claduègne rises in this area.

Culture and history

The Château de Berzème is the only fortified castle on the Plateau du Coiron. The residential building is constructed from basalt and complemented by ancillary agricultural buildings.

By decree of 28 February 1997, the façades and roofs of the residential building, as well as all ancillary buildings of the Château de Berzème, were registered as Monuments historiques. The Château de Berzème is not open to visitors.

The Église Saint-Pierre de Berzème is a Romanesque church that was first mentioned as early as 1170 and has an 18th-century wooden bell. Every summer, Berzème also hosts the Béret-throwing World Championship.

Nature

A 20-hectare arboretum is located near the Château de Berzème. Walking trails lead through larches, cedars, sequoias, maples and other tree species.

Walks and riding excursions
