The Musée du Peigne et de la Plasturgie’s collection comprises more than 16,000 objects. The museum traces the industrial development of an innovative valley through hair accessories, eyewear, decorative art and design. It also preserves collections of combs and hair accessories made in Oyonnax.

The Grande Vapeur was built in 1905 as a model factory and is a rare example of 20th-century industrial architecture. The exterior of the Grande Vapeur was classified as a historic monument in 1988. During a guided tour, the daily lives of the craftsmen take centre stage.

The painted walls of Oyonnax bear witness to the life lived and history of the town. They can be discovered while walking through the streets; most of them are located in the town centre.

Events

The Fête de l'Hiver in Oyonnax is a recurring winter event featuring light parades, musical performances, street theatre and poetic processions. The 22nd edition of the Fête de Printemps in Oyonnax had a medieval-fantasy theme with roaming performances.
