The Plan d’eau de Lalleyriat is considered a year-round location for nature-based leisure activities and features a supervised 200 m² swimming area in summer.

Nature
A path accessible to everyone, with benches, runs around the body of water. Constructed jetties along the shore provide anglers with access. People with reduced mobility can access the water via an adapted seat and an access mat.
The hike Le tour de la Grande Montagne leads into the wide hollows of the Plateau de Retord and onto the ridge, with views of the Monts du Jura and the chaîne du Mont Blanc. It also leads to Lac de Lalleyriat.
Activities
The trail Le Rocher – Parcours de trail n°28 runs around the centre of Lalleyriat and the Plan d’eau de Lalleyriat. It is more than 10 km long and includes almost 400 metres of ascent. The trail offers views of the Haut-Bugey and the haute chaîne du Jura.
A ski and snowshoe connection leads from the Plan d’eau de Lalleyriat to the porte de Cuvéry access point and to the Chapelle de Retord. The POIZAT-LALLEYRIAT – L'ANGLETON launch site is located in Lalleyriat at an altitude of 1,163 m and is used for paragliding and hang-gliding.
Culture
The Vierge de Lalleyriat is a place of worship on the trail Le Rocher – Parcours de trail n°28. The church of Lalleyriat was built in 1840.
The Ronde des Fours is considered a traditional event celebrating the local heritage and took place around Lalleyriat’s recently renovated oven. At the Ronde des Fours, four ovens were used to serve almost 500 guests bread, cakes, gratins and roasts, lasagne and pizzas. It includes three signposted hiking routes of 6, 8 and 14 km, along which the communal ovens can be discovered.
