Active pursuits
The Circuit de la Gerle is a 4 km-long, very easy circular family trail with 180 metres of elevation gain. It starts at the « la boule » school car park and leads to waterfalls and past several pools where you can cool off in summer.
The Les Cabrettes hike is 12 km long, difficult, has 750 metres of elevation gain and starts at the Matacharre forest lodge. La Tour can be reached on foot from the church in about 40 minutes.
Les Sabots de Vénus offers one- to six-day trail rides as well as riding lessons for beginners through advanced riders from the age of three.
Nature
The Les Cabrettes route follows the panoramic ridge of Clape and offers views of Céüse, the Baronnies provençales and Mont Ventoux on the horizon.
History and culture
The Chartreuse de Bertaud was founded in 1188 and was the second female establishment of the Carthusian order. The Circuit de la Gerle circular trail passes the ruins of a medieval tower. The Les Cabrettes route brings the Cabrettes des Roux, restored by Pierre Para, to life as part of the forestry heritage.
Surroundings
The summit of La Manche, Château de Tallard, Montagne de Céuze, Montagne de Charance and the summit of Trèsaubenq are located near La Roche-des-Arnauds. The Cathédrale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Arnoux is also located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of La Roche-des-Arnauds are the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame du Laus and the Saint-Pierre church.
