Vézières: Holiday apartments and houses

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Vézières was built in the 12th century and remodelled in the 13th and 14th centuries. Its defining features include a Romanesque apse with three chamfered sides, large flat buttresses and carved corbels. An outer narthex occupies almost the entire width of its façade.

The partially damaged mausoleum depicts the Lord of Villiers in armour. Guillaume du Rivau is said to have served with the Knights of Malta during a crusade to the Holy Land. The Tour de Villiers-Boivin was listed by decree on 26 July 1967. The church's history also points to earlier structures: the bell comes from the former parish of Saint-Citroine, which now belongs to the municipality of Vézières.
