Culture and History
The Église Saint-Médard was built in the 17th century in the flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance styles. By decree of 16 October 1952, it was listed as a historic monument.
The Château de La Roche is located in the territory of Magné, at the gates of Gençay, and overlooks the Belle valley. Construction of the complex took place from the 15th to the 18th century. Guided tours of the Château de La Roche are offered exclusively by prior appointment.
The quarries of La Talonnière were associated with craft and artistic activities for approximately a century, from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century. On private properties in La Talonnière, remains of stonecutters’ huts and a lime kiln can be seen. The limestone from the Belle valley was valued for its beautiful yellow, light, hard and uniform texture, as well as its resistance to frost.
The cemetery of Magné also features an exceptional heritage of funerary sculpture. The funerary art found there incorporated European artistic movements such as Art Nouveau and, later, Art Deco. The hamlet of Puyrabier, also known as Puy Rabier, is very old and is documented as early as 1286.

Landscape and Nature
The Parc de la Belle is situated on a 12-hectare, hilly site on the banks of the Belle and encompasses the grounds surrounding a 19th-century bourgeois residence. More than 20,000 plants, as well as numerous flower species and several tree species, grow in the park. It also features a large, nature-oriented playground.
The Fontaine du Puyrabier is a private site and is considered one of the sources of the Belle. Its water is described as always being blue; numerous legends are associated with the spring.
Hiking
The 21-kilometre hiking trail “Entre Belle et Clouère” is one of the circular routes in Magné and the surrounding area. It leads from the medieval Château de Gençay through a rich architectural and natural heritage.
The 22-kilometre hiking trail “Entre brandes et plaines” leads through heathlands with broom and across the plains of Magné, La Ferrière-Airoux and Champagné-Saint-Hilaire.
