Culture and History
The Église Saint-Martin dates from the late 12th century and has preserved its original choir. By decree of 19 November 1910, it was classified as a French historic monument. The church also contains a Stations of the Cross fresco painted by the artist Abel Pineau in 1947.
Pont de Taizon is a Romanesque bridge from the 13th century over the Thouet. Since 1943, it has been included in the supplementary register of historic monuments. The medieval core of the Commanderie de Prailles includes two Romanesque twin windows and a chapel with Angevin-style cross vaults.
The present-day Chapelle Notre-Dame des Neiges was rebuilt between 1870 and 1875. It was intended as a place of prayer for agricultural workers who could not attend Mass at the parish church during certain times of the year. The chapel of Château du Clos de la Coste was open to visitors during the European Heritage Days.
