Fénery: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A former railway line in Fénery was converted into a Voie Verte, suitable for walking or cycling. The line through Fénery connected Bressuire and Parthenay; until 1982, it was used by express trains on the Nantes–Limoges route via Poitiers.

Landscape

Fénery is characterised by a hilly bocage landscape, where grassland and cultivated fields alternate. The walking trails lead through hedgerows, meadows, forests and small ponds in the bocage landscape of the Gâtine.

The former railway station in Fénery is a starting point for walks along the Voie Verte.

A 3 km circular walk explaining the local heritage begins in the town centre and links several historic sites. The five panels along this heritage trail contain texts in English and Parlanjhe. The panels also provide information about animal species; this information is based on an inventory of the local fauna from 2022.

Trails and Circular Walks

Two signposted trails along the Pont-de-Bois stream offer a total of 20 km of walking.

The “Fénery – Les sources du Cébron” circular route starts at the Voie Verte car park in Fénery. It is 7.5 km long and takes approximately two hours.

The “Roule ma boule” route runs by bicycle or on foot from Pougne-Hérisson to Fénery.

The Voie Verte between Parthenay and Bressuire is 32 km long. It takes approximately three and a half hours by bicycle, is suitable for families and leads through the countryside, with Fénery as the designated starting point.
