Combrand: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Chapelle des Arcis was built in 1866 by Father Jacques Vion, the parish priest of Combrand, and immediately donated to the municipality. The single-nave, or single-room, building is made of local granite and is located in a small park on the outskirts of Combrand, on the road to Rorthais.

Those who choose Combrand as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Culture and history

Inside the Chapelle des Arcis is a stained-glass window of Saint John the Baptist dating from 1858. It depicts the saint’s life in six panels, covering five stages of his life. In 1876, during the construction of the eastern bay, the window was moved to the new choir wall.

The Château de la Pastellière is a historic site and a listed historic monument in Combrand. Water-filled moats surround the château, which is protected by three round towers.

Gaspard de Bernard de Marigny, an artillery general of the Vendée, was executed in 1794 at the Château de la Girardière in Combrand.
