Culture
The church of Saint-Médard houses a pulpit that comes from Saint-Pierre d’Angoulême Cathedral. It was acquired in 1884 by Abbé Margat, the parish priest at the time. The pulpit dates from the 17th century and was restored in 1994.
Cycle Paths
In 2004, La Galope Chopine was converted from the former railway line between Châteauneuf and Saint-Yzan into a greenway. North of Barbezieux, La Galope Chopine was extended as far as Saint-Médard, where the paved section ends.
Section 24 of the Tour Charente mountain-bike route runs between Saint-Médard and Lamérac through predominantly agricultural landscapes.
