The Circuit Entre Touvre et Charente circular trail starts at the town hall of Gond-Pontouvre. It is 11.5 km long and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. It includes a section of the “La Flow Vélo” cycle route, which crosses the Charente; the circular trail also passes underneath the Viaduc de Foulpougne.

The Périph’vert walking trail is a 19 km circular route connecting Gond-Pontouvre, Angoulême, Isle d’Espagnac and Soyaux. In the area of Gond-Pontouvre, it runs in the immediate vicinity of the STGA urban bus network and is accessible to everyone.

The Le Tour de l'Arédie circular trail starts in Gond-Pontouvre, is 17.5 km long and can be completed on foot in 1 hour or by mountain bike in 2 hours.

Culture and History

Le Pontouvre is considered one of the two old villages from which Gond-Pontouvre derives its name; the other is Le Gond. In the area of the municipality of Gond-Pontouvre, the Viaduc de Foulpougne is a railway viaduct on the Paris–Bordeaux railway line.

The Usine élévatoire de Foulpougne was commissioned in 1908 and contributed to supplying Angoulême with drinking water for more than half a century. In the context of the municipality of Gond-Pontouvre, the Périph’vert draws attention to various cultural and historical features of the Charente.
