In Guizengeard, the Sentier de randonnée des carrières de Guizengeard trail runs through former kaolin extraction sites with open-pit mines that are now filled with water. The trail also passes through wooded areas and open spaces with remarkable viewpoints.

Along the footpath by Lac de Guizengeard, information boards provide details about local history as well as the local flora and fauna. Access to the Guizengeard quarries is subject to the following rule from 4 to 31 August 2026: it is permitted in the morning but prohibited from 1:00 p.m. until midnight. This regulation applies until 11:59 p.m. on 31 August 2026.

Culture

The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste is located in the cemetery in the centre of Guizengeard. It has the oldest bell in Charente; the bell dates from 1495.

In the wider regional area around Guizengeard are the churches Église Saint-Nicolas-de-Peudry and Église Saint-Mathias de Barbezieux.

The Safari Parc de Haute Saintonge covers a 650-hectare enclosed area with forests, meadows and ponds. Among other animals, visitors can observe red deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar and roe deer there. The park offers tours in a 4x4 Land Rover at dawn or dusk. From the end of September to the end of October, it is also possible to listen to the rutting calls of red deer and fallow deer there by prior reservation.
