Culture and History
The present-day Château de Saucourt is built entirely of brick. The Battle of Saucourt-en-Vimeu took place on 3 August 881 in the area of the present-day municipality of Nibas. The Ludwigslied is a poem written in Old High German in honour of the victory of Louis III on 3 August 881 at Saucourt-en-Vimeu.
In 1319, the Abbey of Saint-Valery transferred the Chapelle Saint-Louis de Saucourt to the Hôtel-Dieu d'Abbeville. The chapel stood in ruins in the middle of the 19th century and was rebuilt in 1862. Saucourt Castle is said to have been partially destroyed by fire in 1846.
The documented furnishings of the Church of Saint-Valéry de Nibas include an eagle lectern dating from the 18th century.

The medieval cross of Saucourt was restored in 2009 near the intersection of the RD 925 and the RD 48. The Croix de Saucourt is associated in collective memory with the Battle of Saucourt in 881. It belongs to a remarkable group of more than 40 tuff crosses distributed throughout the Vimeu.

Memorial events and historical reenactments help keep alive the memory of the Battle of Saucourt-en-Vimeu.
