Landscape
Near Mont-l'Évêque, the Nonette marks the transition between the forest massif and the agricultural plain.
The Sangle stream is a small tributary running parallel to the Nonette. It was diverted in 1970 to power the large mill at the entrance to the village and to supply the pond and canals in the château park.
The Fossé de six pieds rises at a former watercress bed and once supplied an old mill.
The Château de Mont-l'Évêque is set in a large park crossed by the Nonette; the river forms a pond there.

Culture and history
The Église Saint-Germain dates from the 13th century; it was listed by decree of 27 September 1963.
The Chauvineau Line was a 130 km-long Parisian defensive line, begun in 1939 under the direction of General Chauvineau. In Mont-l'Évêque, it is represented by a Bloc Chauvineau standing at the crossroads with the road leading into the forest.
Construction work on the Chauvineau Line was interrupted by the German invasion in May 1940 and remained unfinished.
The concrete fortification of the Chauvineau Line was intended to accommodate cannons; the Nonette valley was used for defence.
The old floodgates in Mont-l'Évêque were installed to flood the valley in the event of a German invasion.
