Liancourt-Saint-Pierre is located on a slope extending from the marsh to the Vexin Plateau. The lower part of the village is crossed by the Canal de Marquemont. The village also lies along the former Roman road between Beauvais and Mantes, known as the “Chaussée Brunehaut”.

Culture and History

The Saint-Pierre priory was founded in 1055 by Gauthier III. The remains of the Saint-Pierre priory church now form a tall, solid building with a rectangular floor plan. A remnant of the former Saint-Pierre church is still visible on Rue du Donjon; the promenade at the former church is called “Sentier des amoureux”.

The Notre-Dame Church dates largely from the late 12th century and has a Latin cross floor plan. Its chancel windows depict the marriage of the Virgin Mary and her coronation by the Holy Trinity. The church also houses a rare small pipe organ dating from 1843, made by the organ builder Lété of Mirecourt.

In Saint-Pierre Church, the statue “Saint Fiacre” was registered as a protected movable cultural heritage object on 11 January 2017. Finely crafted ornaments, reused from the former château, can be seen on a house on Rue Saint-Pierre.

Historical traces can also be found elsewhere in the village: Nicolas de Pellevé had a château built in Liancourt-Saint-Pierre in 1560. Today, a main pavilion and several outbuildings remain from the former château. In the hamlet of Vivray, the “Saint-Louis” calvary was erected in 1828 by Louis-Alexandre Commecy in memory of his daughter, who died at the age of 13. The former village mill still has visible stables and the miller’s dwelling.

The former communal pond was created in 1848 to water horses and is now a children’s playground.

Liancourt-Saint-Pierre is located on the Éragny-Neuville–Gisors section of Transilien Line J. Liancourt-Saint-Pierre station is designated as a TER station with a connection to Paris Saint-Lazare station.
