Ully-Saint-Georges: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

Ully-Saint-Georges preserves notable evidence of its history. The Église Saint-Georges was classified as a historic monument by decree of 28 February 1951. To the right of the west portal, part of the wall of the former Romanesque church from the 11th century, featuring opus spicatum masonry, has been preserved. The church also has a choir with three apses, which is considered exceptional for a relatively small rural church.

North of the Église Saint-Georges stands the Ancienne grange dîmière, the former tithe barn. It was listed as a historic monument by decree of 6 June 1933 and dates from the 14th century. Its portal is topped by an échauguette, a small watchtower. A depiction of the Virgin can also be found in the hamlet of Coupin.

Those looking for a holiday apartment in Ully-Saint-Georges should focus their search on the village.

Hiking and trails

La grande boucle is a 15.5-kilometre difficult hiking route with a stated duration of four hours. It starts on the Grande rue and passes through or leads to the sights mentioned in Ully-Saint-Georges and Foulangues. These include the Ancienne grange aux Dîmes and the Église Saint-Georges in Ully-Saint-Georges, as well as the church and former quarries in Foulangues.

A shorter option is the Visite de la commune d'Ully: this short walking route is 4 kilometres long and has a stated walking time of one hour. It runs along roads and paths and is suitable for discovering the municipality.

Landscape and local history

The Ru de Cires, whose source is in Cauvigny, runs through the village of Ully-Saint-Georges. The area's former transport history can also still be traced in the townscape: the former Ully-Saint-Georges railway station building at 30 avenue de la gare is still preserved. From 1879 to 1948, the village was served by the station on the railway line from Hermes to Beaumont.
