Chacrise is a village in the former Soissonnais region, located at the bottom of the Crise valley. The Crise runs through Chacrise and subsequently flows into the Aisne.

History
Chacrise originally belonged to the royal domain. In 858, Charles the Bald donated the village to the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Soissons.
Church
The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Chacrise dates from the 12th century and was remodelled in the 19th century. It retains its original round-arched windows. The church has a pointed-arch entrance portal in the façade with decorated capitals featuring crockets, ball and water-leaf motifs. Chacrise church also has a very tall slate spire, which is very rare in the region.
