Culture

Windows 3 and 4 are located in the transept, while windows 5 to 8 are in the nave. Windows 5 and 6 are decorated with rows of pointed arches containing trefoil motifs, stylised leaves and crosses.

The Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette has been a pilgrimage site since it was blessed on 29 September 1858. It was built on the ruins of a Romanesque chapel dedicated to Saint Sebastian. The building has an octagonal floor plan, with each side measuring 7.30 metres, and can be visited independently and freely.

Landscape and Hiking

The landscape around Trans is characterised by bocage hedgerows typical of the area, meadows and wooded areas.

The Circuit de Saint-Martin is 7.5 kilometres long and follows a circular hiking route. It starts at the church and returns to the church at the end. Along the way, it leads to the Chapel of Notre-Dame de la Salette; on the Circuit de Saint-Martin, you can discover the landscapes and cultural heritage of Mayenne.
