Culture
The Archisculpture has been protected as a historic monument since January 2022. The Allée des Géants is lined with 19 monumental statues made of painted cement. Robert Tatin created the monumental sculptural complex around the artist’s house in Cossé-le-Vivien.
Construction of the Church of Saint-Gervais et Saint-Protais began in summer 1868; it was consecrated on 27 July 1877. The church contains more than 300 sculptures.
Nature
La Pré de Cossé is an area of more than four hectares, developed for nature exploration and designated as a nature site; this designation is dated 14 October 2015. La Pré de Cossé includes a one-kilometre circular trail with wooden footbridges and information panels.
The Circuit de Cossé-le-Vivien circular hiking trail passes through the wetlands of Cossé. There is also a small pond on the Circuit de Cossé-le-Vivien, where hikers can take a break.
Trails
The former railway line from Cossé-le-Vivien is now a greenway accessible to walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Cossé-le-Vivien has four walking trails for exploring the municipality’s landscape. Two of these four trails feature illustrated panels about the local flora and fauna: one runs along the Oudon, while the other passes the Musée Robert Tatin. The panels were created by students from Collège Saint Joseph.
Aléop route 140 serves Cossé-le-Vivien on the route between Châteaubriant and Laval.
