The community of the Couvent des Cordelières in Vezins was founded in 1650 with the obligation to provide free instruction to the girls of the parish. The fortified château of Vezins was built around the 12th century by the De La Porte family. It was rebuilt in 1770 after its towers and fortifications had been demolished on the orders of Louis XIII; it burned down in 1794 and was rebuilt on the same foundations in the 19th century.
Culture and History
The weavers’ house at 30, rue de Cheneveau is one of the last surviving weavers’ houses in Vezins. There were once 150 to 180 handlooms there. The Cercle Bel’Air in Vezins has a boules de fort court. Boule de fort is a traditional game from the Pays de la Loire and is listed in the French inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
The present-day church of Vezins has a choir surrounded by wood panelling, a high altar carved from hard stone, heraldic windows and a bell tower crowned by a polygonal limestone dome.

The Terre de Brique mountain-bike loop passes through the former brickyards of Vezins, which the municipality identifies as part of the local heritage. The De l'Uzelière aux Landes loop starts and ends in Vezins, is 6.5 km long, marked in blue and listed as taking 1 hour and 35 minutes.

The La Glaise et les Etangs loop passes through an area with ponds and returns to the former Les Poteries station; it then runs alongside a former brickyard with a wastewater treatment plant and washhouse.
