Culture and History
The admission price for the Château de Saumur includes a 30-minute guided tour of the grounds focusing on the site's history and architecture.
The Musée des Blindés houses a unique collection of almost 800 vehicles, 250 of which are on public display. It presents armoured vehicles alongside frescoes and costumes from bygone eras.
The Musée du Moteur presents a collection dedicated to internal combustion engines of all kinds, spanning the period from 1818 to the present day and ranging from 800 grams to 21 tonnes. Water
The Millocheau leisure and water sports centre is located on the Île de Saumur on the banks of the Loire, opposite the city. At the Millocheau centre, sailing and stand-up paddleboarding are offered by the Pôle nautique de Saumur, along with canoe and kayak hire on the Loire.
Nature
Saumur's Jardin des Plantes is situated on the hillside in the heights of the Nantilly district, in the shadow of the château. It has been designated an LPO site by the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux.
