The Sentier de l’Isac et de Bout de Bois follows the towpath of the Nantes–Brest Canal, leads to the Bout de Bois waterway and is intended for hiking and cycling. From the Saffré ponds, it runs through the surroundings of the Nantes–Brest Canal as well as through woodland and bocage landscapes.

The municipality of Saffré is characterised in the west by a plain with the Isac valley and in the east by a plateau with the Forêt de Saffré.
Les Perrières de Saffré is classified as a continental ZNIEFF type 1. The area is home to rare and uncommon plants, including notable orchid populations. It comprises former wet depressions resulting from earlier limestone extraction, natural meadows, grasslands undergoing scrub encroachment, and various woodland areas.
The ponds of Château de Saffré form an ecologically rich area with a wetland and meadow zone enhanced in the 2000s. At the ponds, visitors can discover several plant species, including protected species, numerous dragonflies, a carnivorous plant, dozens of birds and amphibians.
The Bout de Bois site offers opportunities for sport, recreation, fishing, picnicking, children’s games and walks.
Culture
Château de Saffré has a history spanning nine centuries. The Maquis de Saffré memorial site has an interpretation trail running from the monument to the oratory and can be visited free of charge every day.
The Médiathèque Le Château is located on the ground floor of Château de Saffré and welcomes visitors year-round.
