Nature
The Réserve naturelle nationale de la Belle Henriette covers 337 hectares, divided equally between La Faute-sur-Mer and La Tranche-sur-Mer. It is an open lagoon with sandbanks that shift over time and a constantly changing succession of habitats such as dunes, mudflats and salt marshes.
A total of 234 bird species have been recorded in the Réserve naturelle nationale de la Belle Henriette, including the Short-eared Owl during the wintering season and the Osprey during migration. The area is accessible to visitors provided they follow the designated and marked paths; dogs are only permitted there on a leash.
Pointe d’Arçay is located in the delegated municipality of La Faute-sur-Mer. It is a unique sandspit and is classified as a Ramsar site. It is valued for its landscapes as well as its wildlife and plant life. The Réserve biologique dirigée de la Pointe d'Arçay is fenced off.

The Boucle cyclable La Presqu'île is a cycle route allowing you to explore the peninsula of La Faute-sur-Mer; along the way, it offers views of the mouth of the Lay and oyster huts surrounded by shallow settling ponds.
