La Roche-sur-Yon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Louis was built between 1812–1813 and 1829 and has been classified as a historic monument since 1982. Through historic furnishings, decorations and works of art, it gives visitors an overview of religious art.

The Maison Renaissance, dating from 1556, is considered the oldest building in La Roche-sur-Yon. It successively served as the town governor’s manor house and as an inn; as a municipal art gallery, it presents exhibitions featuring works by local artists.

La Gâterie supports young artists through four annual exhibitions and a residency. Alongside its exhibitions, it offers workshops and tailor-made tours.

There are three castles in the immediate vicinity of La Roche-sur-Yon: Château du Plessis, Château des Oudairies and Château de La Brossardière.
