Saint-Jean-Le-Thomas: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas has been listed as a historic monument since 8 June 1967 and is considered one of the oldest churches in the Manche département. Its choir dates back at least to the Carolingian period.

The bilingual booklet “Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, Flânerie dans son histoire” offers a two-hour walk through the streets of the municipality, exploring the history of its development as a seaside resort from 1850 to 1950. Visiting Saint-Jean-le-Thomas also includes discovering Belle Époque villas by the sea.

At Plage de Pignochet in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, a wooden structure almost two hectares in size was built for catching fish. This fishing installation is described as one of the oldest facilities of its kind in Europe.

Paths and walks

The coastal and maritime heritage promenade in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas is approximately six kilometres long. From Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, visitors can use the Chemins de Saint-Michel and the GR 223. The Rando Mimosa is a guided hike of around ten kilometres around Saint-Jean-le-Thomas.
