The Manoir du Bois Adam is situated on a hill above the Norman bocage; from there, the view extends as far as the borders of the Orne, Mayenne and Ille-et-Vilaine departments. The Manoir du Bois Adam is located in Le Bois Adam in La Chapelle-Urée. It was built mainly in the late 17th and early 18th centuries and is partly protected as a historic monument. The protection covers the façades and roofs of the residential building, its interior features including the staircase, doors and wood panelling in the salon, as well as the dining room on the ground floor, and the garden area with its enclosing walls. The listing was made by decree dated 25 November 1998.

Culture and history

The Église Notre-Dame was extensively remodelled over the centuries and rebuilt in the 19th century. Its vault is painted blue and decorated with stars and, in some places, heraldic motifs; in the choir, it preserves two basket-handle arch windows from the 17th century.

The statue of Saint John the Evangelist has been listed as a protected movable cultural heritage object since 24 November 1972. It is a sculpture made of carved and polychrome-painted stone.
