Culture and History
The Château de Tramecourt is listed as a historic monument; the protection was registered on 13 November 2003. The protected ensemble includes an avenue of lime trees and a walled kitchen garden.
The history of the estate dates back to a simple manor house from the beginning of the 17th century. In 1740, a pleasure château built of brick and stone followed. A landscaped park was also created for the estate in the 19th century.
The Église Saint-Léonard de Tramecourt was built at the beginning of the 17th century. It has a Latin cross-shaped floor plan and is designed in the flamboyant Gothic style. Inside, there are numerous tomb slabs dating from the 16th to the 18th century. The church also houses a baptismal font dating from the 12th century, which is classified as a historic monument.
The Église Saint-Léonard is accessed through a remarkably ornately carved porch, above which a statue of Saint Leonard is mounted. The coat of arms of Tramecourt and the motto “Virtus & Antiquitas” (“Courage and Tradition”) are displayed on the porch.
