The ceramic history of Desvres dates back to 1764, when Jean-François STA founded Desvres’ first faience manufactory. The Musée de la Céramique de Desvres displays around 700 pieces of pottery, faience, stoneware and porcelain. A chronological and thematic tour through ten rooms explores the ceramic history of Desvres from the late 17th to the early 21st century. The museum offers guided tours, educational activities and modelling workshops throughout the year.

The Musée de la Belle Époque is housed in the former Fourmaintraux factory. Around 4,000 pieces from the personal collection of M. Debette are displayed there.

The Centre Aquatique Naturéo in Desvres has a 25-metre sports pool, a leisure and learning pool, a water slide, and a paddling pool with games and a waterfall. The centre also includes a wellness area with a 130-square-metre balneotherapy pool, a hammam, two saunas and a Scandinavian shower.

Nature and history

In the Middle Ages, Mont Hulin was the site of a strategic fortress. Mont Pelé is a former chalk quarry where exceptional vegetation recolonisation can be observed and which offers a panoramic view over Desvres and its surroundings. The circular route via Mont Pelé and Mont Hulin starts at the Musée de la Céramique on Rue Jean Macé.
